Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel —
Waiting out the rain in the lobby of the posh Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel in Aguas Calientes. The hotel is extremely expensive, but its lobby is a great place to take a short nap when it's pouring rain outside and the "pepperoni" you had last night is doing unkind things in your stomach.

Sacred Stone —
Along the Orchid Trail at the Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel is "The Sacred Stone", a tall slab of rock protected by outcroppings, covered with runes. Although nobody knows what these etchings are, or when they were drawn, they are apparently very...sacred.

Orchid Trail —
One of the reasons we camped out at the Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel was for the reputedly beautiful orchid trail that spanned its grounds. Although there wasn't much blooming at this time of year, we were able to get a glimpse of a few beautiful buds.
