Our Porters —
The greeting party, there to entertain us and help carry our luggage from
our taxi to the boat that would take us to our tent camp near Corcovado.
We never did figure out why these kids weren't in school.

What's That on Your Arm? —
While waiting to board their boat for Corcovado, Keith pauses to examine
the bizarre rainforest insect that landed on him, and Kim wonders if she
should be looking for the first aid kit, or finishing her snack first.

Mangrove Forest —
A "shortcut" through a mangrove forest on the Rio Sierpe at low tide,

Kim Ready for the Rain —
As the rain started to fall during our transport down the Rio Sierpe
to our tent camp, Kim realized her rain poncho was packed away with
her luggage. Carlos made everything right by whipping together a
poor man's Hefty-bag poncho — complete with arm holes!

Houses on the Rio Sierpe —
Rustic dwellings — probably another tent camp of some
kind — above the riverbanks of Rio Sierpe.

Unloading Our Luggage —
Our luggage protected from river spray, ocean spray, and rain with
the high-tech solution of giant Hefty bags. This was the last time
anything we owned was dry for about two weeks.
