Chichen Itza - Inside El Castillo —

new one on top of the old one. This carving resides at the top of the
pyramid that lies immediately inside El Castillo, i.e.: the former

Chichen Itza - Gran Juego de Pelota —
The great ball court, where ancient Mayans played Juego de Pelota.
Two players would compete against each other to knock an eight-pound
rock into one of the hoops without using their hands, arms, or feet.
The loser — or winner, they're not sure
— was ritually killed. That probably made it hard
for the players to earn long-term endorsement contracts.
