In the 1960s, Hurricane Janet whipped things up so badly that the north end of the island is still divided by a waterway to this day. But the Belizians are great at dealing with these kinds of setbacks; they just need two guys, a metal platform, and a long rope, and they've got themselves a hand-drawn ferry. |
